The history of Stübben is based on a family tradition. Founded in 1894, it reflects the diversity and individuality of the European continent and of European culture. For 100 years Stübben has been manufacturing top quality products for the rider and his horse. Time changes everything. The dramatic pace of modern technology, and two world wars have left their impression on today's world. If Great Grandfather Johannes Stübben could see the work his descendants are doing today he would have a few surprises. On the other hand, there are things which have not changed. Such as traditional craftsmanship, methods of preparing and making by hand, a careful selection of materials and the endeavour to offer the best. New technical and scientific developments are only introduced where they improve the end product, but only after exhaustive research and testing.

Quality, long life, and crafted individuality are the proof for any Stübben product. Various parts of a Stübben saddle are still hand stitched such as the seat, the panel and the billets. This ensures a long lasting quality product. The same criteria is applied to all our bridles and leather products.

More than one hundred individual steps are necessary in the manufacture of your own Stübben saddle. Craftsmanship is always realised by craftsmen. The work will always carry the signature of the maker and therefore it will be unique. Your Stübben will always be a very special product.

CUSTOM SADDLE FITTINGS

A perfectly fitting saddle is the key to successful and harmonious riding, no matter whether you’re an active competitor or a pleasure rider. After a brief consultation, we will bring a variety of saddle models to your barn to do a custom fitting on your horse. You can test ride any saddle to get a proper feeling and even keep it for a while if you need more time. A custom fitting is indispensable before every saddle purchase and will be performed by Stubben master saddle fitter David Zimmerman. All custom saddles are guaranteed for fit and manufacturer’s quality and can be reflocked to adjust to a horse’s physical changes.
